Saying that you wished you were as good as someone is not the same thing as bemoaning yourself. This seems really stuck up the way you put it. Some people do need to sit down and pick up a pencil and draw, but if I look at someone’s art and say “Woah I wish I could do that” I’m really saying “Wow, I hope I can improve to the point where I can do that one day”. Don’t sneer and tell people to draw more just because they envy the way you draw. Take it as a compliment and remind them if they don’t seem to understand- one day, with lots of hard work and practice, they can do something like this too!

Yes, and don’t automatically assume they are being ignorant and wanting your talent without work. They most likely know they have to work for it. I know when I use that line (“I wish I could do that”), it means that I hope to be at that skill level some day through my hard work. I’m admiring you, and it’s kind of rude to look down at people who do.
